Annette Peagler, Graduate Assistant
Annette Peagler is a Graduate Assistant for The Chanticleer.
Peagler brings 14 years of experience in journalism to our newspaper staff. She joined WBTW News13 in Myrtle Beach as co-anchor of its newscasts at 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. in December of 2020. She also serves as the sole anchor for WFXB's Fox News at 10.
Annette arrived in Myrtle Beach from WATN-TV in Memphis, Tenn., where she was the weekend evening anchor and nightside reporter.
Annette started her broadcasting career at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio, as the first-ever apprentice for E.W. Scripps. At the conclusion of the two-year program, she was hired as a WCPO weekend producer.
She received an Emmy nomination for her story, "The Rise and Fall of Stax Records," during her time as an Anchor/Reporter in Memphis. Annette has also worked as a multimedia journalist for WKEF ABC 22/WRGT FOX 45 in Dayton, Ohio, and as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WLBT in Jackson, Mississippi.
She's a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
