And just like that, the end of the semester is approaching, and some are graduating. For some, this moment feels bittersweet; for others it’s filled with excitement and anticipation.
For a long time, our beloved Coastal Carolina University has been your kingdom, your place. It’s where you have met incredible people, built meaningful connections and created memories that will stay with you. Now, however, it’s time to continue pursuing your dreams somewhere new, perhaps even in a different state.
Change is what allows us to evolve, but that does not mean it’s easy. Leaving behind familiar classrooms, routines and faces can feel overwhelming. Still, everything you have experienced, the lessons, the friendships and the growth, becomes a part of who you are. These moments do not disappear, they travel with you.
The people you have met and the memories you have created will always have a place in your heart, and many of those connections can continue beyond this chapter.
I know how difficult it’s to start from scratch and to say goodbye to a life that has felt like home for so long. But I invite you, as you read this, to reflect on the good times you have had. Let them serve as proof of your resilience and your ability to thrive. Let them motivate you to reach even greater heights in the future.
The truth is that discomfort is a necessary part of growth. It pushes us beyond what we know and challenges us to become more than we thought possible. At the same time, do not forget to recognize how far you have already come. Be proud of your accomplishments, your perseverance and everything you have achieved along the way.
Even if one day your time at Coastal becomes a memory, you have the power to keep those connections alive. Stay in touch with your besties. Tell them how much they mean to you, how they have shaped your journey and how much you have grown together.
As you step into this next chapter, remember that this is not just an ending, but the beginning of something new. This is your time to celebrate how far you have come and to live each moment with joy, peace and love. Congratulations!
