On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Coastal Carolina announced the hiring of Adam Perron as their new men’s soccer head coach following the retirement of longtime coach Shaun Docking.
Perron joins Coastal, as the fifth head coach, after serving as the associate head coach at the University of Virginia (UVA) from 2020-2025.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Perron and his family to Coastal Carolina,” said CCU Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation Chance Miller said. “Coach has a long history of winning and brings a tremendous combination of tactical knowledge, recruiting insight, and a passion for developing student-athletes on and off the field. His experience at programs that have competed in the post season has prepared him well to continue our tradition of excellence in men’s soccer.”
During his time at Virginia, Perron helped guide the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances and developed 10 players who went on to become Major League Soccer draft prospects. In addition to assisting the head coach, he was heavily involved in recruiting and player development.
Before his time at UVA, Perron was the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at James Madison University. While Perron was active at James Madison, the team made multiple NCAA appearances.
Perron is also noted for serving in coaching roles at Southern New Hampshire University, Ohio State University and Seacoast United Academy.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to come to a program like Coastal, which I believe has tremendous potential for greatness and outstanding resources,” Perron said. “I share the vision of the athletic department and the direction it’s heading. I have immense belief in myself, our staff, the alumni of this program, and everyone who will be involved in bringing championships back to Coastal Soccer. My family and I are happy, excited and looking forward to getting to Conway!”
