The Coastal Carolina University board of trustees banned TikTok on campuswide internet at their meeting dating back to May 4. University Marketing and Communication sent out an email that day that said the ban is meant to prioritize the safety and privacy of CCU students, faculty and staff. The ban complies with South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster’s wish for state agencies to block the app.
