Next year, the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleer Regiment marching band will be going overseas to perform in the London New Year’s Parade for 2023.  

According to CCU’s website, the announcement was made on Nov. 20 after the band’s performance at the University’s alumni tailgate in Blanton Park before the game against Texas State. 

Claudia Bornholdt, dean of Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts, shared the news with Conway mayor Barbara Blain-Bellamy, and said this event will bring national and international exposure to Conway, and CCU.  

The London New Year’s Day Parade has been an annual event since 1987. Today it’s one of the largest in the world with a crowd of 500,000, and a worldwide total of 600 million viewers. The 2023 LNYDP will be available to watch in the United States on PBS.
