Josh Norman

Josh Norman, a Coastal Carolina University alum, continues to succeed in his pro football career.

A Greenwood, S.C., native, he currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers. Norman is a former Carolina Panther, Washington Redskin and Buffalo Bill. Prior to his professional football career, Norman started in 39 games for the Chanticleers, completing196 tackles and 13 interceptions.

After graduating from Coastal Carolina, he was later drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round, gaining a Superbowl win, and was nominated first-team All-Pro. He also thrived as a member of the Buffalo Bills, with 24 tackles in nine games.

His induction in 2017 to the George F. “Buddy” Sasser Hall of Fame ensured that his legacy lives on at Coastal. In 2018, the Josh Norman Field House was named for him after he donated money to the university.

When he is not playing football, he contributes to his community through his foundation Starz24. The foundation assists children in staying active, while simultaneously learning the fundamentals of teamwork.
