New Nursing Bachelor’s approved

Coastal Carolina University’s board of trustees approved a new four-year Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing.

According to the University press release, the degree is designed to prepare students for a variety of roles in healthcare and prepare students to pass the national licensure examination for registered nurses. The degree will be hosted by the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance.

It is predicted that 90% of graduates would secure an RN position within nine months of graduation. The degree is designed to address the local and regional nursing shortage.
