Conway welcomes new 7-11 gas station

CCU students from out of state have anticipated the opening of the new 7-11 on 501 after several months of construction, the 7-11 is now open and ready to serve customers.

The chain location opened for business on March 30 and is celebrating by giving away free goodies over the next several weeks. These goodies include free snacks, drinks and swag bags. This location sports a different look compared to other 7-11’s with a mini-mart atmosphere and will offer services which are not offered at other gas stations.

“This is more of our focus on our new concept, you’ll see more and more of our sites with a restaurant inside that will cater to local communities and the site will also have delivery,” said Brian Mulcahy, a senior real estate representative of 7-11 operations in the area.

This location has a restaurant inside called The Roost, which sells chicken, comparable to KFC, and will have a delivery service which is anticipated to be popular in the area. Mulcahy said the delivery service will start within the next 30 to 60 days and offer goods such as chicken and beer. The location has expectations of being a popular spot for college students.

This is the second location to open in the area with the first opening in 2021 in Murrells Inlet. There are plans to open two other locations by the end of the year.

“The next one will be in the Coventry in the Surfside area and then we have another one in Murrells Inlet off Wachesaw more towards the waterside versus the other one which is on 707” Mulcahy said. “Then we have future development of three to four more sites coming to the area by the end of 23.”

Many CCU students are excited about the 7-11 opening and have already made a few trips with it only being open for a few days.

“I grew up with 7-11 near where I lived so it’s exciting to see them down here,” said Donte Cann, a senior at CCU. “I literally just came in today to grab a Slurpee.”

The new location is open 24 hours, so make time to stop by for a short visit.
