To the Editor of The Chanticleer:
Over the past several months, I have been thrilled to see how much the student newspaper has grown and improved. It’s exciting to see members new and old find their voices and spark conversation as they cover what matters most to them and their peers. Whether that be topics as extensive as national politics, social issues, and advocating for personal rights, or spotlighting individuals as they share their own hobbies, passions, and lived experiences, every inch printed on the page matters. Furthermore, to see these stories presented with such thought and creativity regarding formatting, photography and video, and illustration is nothing short of impressive. From every aspect of production, putting a paper like this together can appear deceptively simple. Journalism is an almost invisible line of work, and perhaps that’s how it’s meant to be. Still, good work deserves to be recognized, and I couldn’t be happier to see what you and your team have created. Good journalism is needed now more than ever, and I have no doubt The Chanticleer staff will continue to do great things from here and beyond.
Best of luck to you all.
