The Coastal Carolina men’s soccer team broke their eight-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 3-1 victory over Georgia State University, earning their first Sun Belt Conference win of the season.
Leading the offense was forward Angel Lopez, who scored twice, and midfielder Jaland Larmond, who added a goal of his own.
CCU played an aggressive match, committing 17 fouls and drawing two yellow cards, one each for midfielders Christian Cook and Daniel Reiter. Georgia State finished with 10 fouls and one yellow card against midfielder Pavel Romero-Garmendia.
Moving to 2-8-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the Sun Belt, the Chanticleers will look to build on their momentum when they travel to face in-state rival South Carolina on Sunday at 7 p.m.
