Coastal Carolina University announced that baseball head coach Kevin Schnall has extended his contract through the 2030 season.
During the 2025 season, Schnall was named Atlantic Region Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Ron Maestri Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year. He ended his historic first season as head coach, leading the Chants to the College World Series for the first time since 2016.
Under Schnall’s leadership, the Chants ended the 2025 season with a school record of 56 wins and a sweep in Omaha to reach the Men’s College World Series Championship Final.
Coastal baseball ended their 2025 season with 26 consecutive wins, among other accolades that gave their program prestige.
Not only is Schnall an award-winning rookie coach in college baseball, but he was also a standout player for the Chanticleers from 1995 to 1999. He was also inducted into the George “Buddy” Sasser Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
Schnall began his career at Coastal Carolina as an assistant coach in 2001 before returning to Coastal in 2016 under the leadership of former head coach Gary Gilmore.
CCU also extended the contracts for associate head coach Max Oxendine and assistant coaches Matt Williams and Matt Schilling, proving their program is only on the rise.
As the 2026 season approaches, Coastal baseball is aimed at Omaha with Schnall at the helm.
