Head football coach Tim Beck fired Coastal Carolina University’s offensive coordinator, Travis Trickett, following back-to-back losses against James Madison University and the University of Louisiana at Lafyette.
Rixon Lane, associate athletics director for media relations, sent out an email announcing the change just before noon on Oct. 21 on Beck’s behalf.
“We appreciate everything Travis and his family have done during their time here at Coastal and wish them nothing but the best. I will be taking over the duties of offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. As head football coach, I believe this is best for our team moving forward,” Beck said.
Trickett joined the CCU coaching staff in December 2022 as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach having previously served one season at the University of South Florida in the same role.
Coastal Carolina started the season off strong with three consecutive wins but fell short in their most recent games against JMU (39-7), and most notably their homecoming game against the University of Louisiana at Lafyette with a final score of 34-24.
CCU is now ranked fourth in the Sun Belt Conference (1-2) following consecutive losses as they travel to Troy University on Nov. 2 under Beck’s offensive leadership.
