Experience a night full of unique costumes, abundant decorations and crafted cocktails at the Myrtle Beach Halloween Bar Crawl on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Brittany Conley, vice president of partner relations for Pub Crawls, said the local community is a major part of the event as it’s a way to connect with others and discover new bars.
“You have the opportunity to kind of just hang out with people that you haven’t met before,” Conley said. “It’s a great way to support local businesses as well.”
The self-guided bar crawl will begin at Sharkey’s Oceanfront Restaurant, and check is from
4 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to Conley. Upon entry, Pub Crawls staff will give each crawler a goodie bag and a wristband with a QR code. The code gives attendees access to a digital map of the participating bars and a special menu, with discounts 25% to 50% off standard prices.
Along with discounted themed drinks and food, crawlers get free entry to at least four local bars and an exclusive afterparty that will run until midnight.
As well as supporting local bars, Conley said prizes are given away through their national social media costume contest.
Crawlers can enter the contest during check-in by posting a photo of their costume to Instagram or Facebook and tagging the Pub Crawls account. There will be multiple winners and some of the prizes include cash and free tickets to future Pub Crawls events.
Conley said that she has seen many classic and unique costumes at past bar crawls. Wear wolves, pirates, and costumes from famous movies have all made an appearance.
“Some people get really creative; I’ve seen some really funky ones,” she said. “It never ceases to amaze me, people and what they are doing.”
It’s not just spooky season that brings people together. Conley said the company has done various other events to engage communities across the country.
Pub Crawls has hosted themed drinking events in cities nationwide since 2008. She said they have partnered with different companies to plan events and post articles to their website to engage communities and attraction towards businesses.
“Even companies that already do bar crawls we’ll partner with them too; a lot of organizations, especially charity stuff like pride organizations and things of that nature,” she said. “So, we just try to get really involved in the community and bring revenue to those local businesses.”
