This iconic line created National Mean Girls Day. The first time I watched “Mean Girls” was at the ripe age of 8 years old. When the movie was over, we replayed it. My mind had to reprocess the cinematic masterpiece I had just watched.
Now, it celebrates its 20th anniversary with popular adaptations such as the recent musical based on the movie, with Reneé Rapp starring as Regina George. This, as well as many other signs, points toward “Mean Girls” having a special place in the media forever.
After my first viewing, it immediately became my favorite movie of all time. My friend’s parents shamed my mom for letting me watch such an inappropriate movie at a young age, but that didn’t stop us.
Now, I watch this movie almost weekly.
“Mean Girls” will forever stay relevant because teen girls will never stop being mean. I’ve been on both sides of the mean girls’ coin—I’ve been a mean girl and I’ve been the victim of mean girls.

This movie will forever be iconic as it relates to all of us by accurately portraying teenage life. Writer and director Tina Fey did not disappoint with this movie that will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.
This movie not only helped with our character development to strengthen us for the real world, but it brought joy to so many people, and I’m sure many others can relate. This movie appeals to all audiences, and it truly can do no wrong.
