Head football coach Tim Beck debuted a new talk show at Chanti’s Pizza in the heart of Downtown Conway this week.
His debut on Aug. 27 focused on tonight’s game against Jacksonville State University.
The first game of the season opens at Jacksonville State’s stadium but will be streaming at Brooks Stadium tonight at 7:30 p.m. The first 1,000 students to show up to Coastal Colors Day for the stream will get a free T-shirt.
Coach Beck said he is excited for the season and players this year. Behind the scenes of the summer practices, Beck said the coaches, players and other executive staff worked hard this summer for this season.
Recently Jacksonville got a new defensive coordinator, but Beck said he isn’t worried about it because he is confident in his game plan. The biggest thing the team will have to handle, he said, is offense against other opponents.
Beck hopes to use the new recruits to the Chanticleer’s advantage. Especially since Grayson McCall transferred, the team needs a new quarterback to fill that functional position.
“I am excited for the Virgina game this year since it’s an ACC team coming to us,” Sean Kobos, the owner of Chanti’s, said.
Kobos said his business approached CCU football a few years ago, however they were in a contract with Walk-Ons, a local sports pub.
“We also thought it would be great for Downtown Conway to have a coaches show here,” Kobos said.
