The best Starbucks holiday drinks
Every year, I look forward to the spread of holiday drinks that Starbucks has to offer. As much as I love their fall drinks, their holiday drinks hold a special place in my heart.
The advertised drinks Starbucks have this year include the sugar cookie almond milk latte, the caramel brûlée latte, the peppermint mocha, the toasted white chocolate mocha and the chestnut praline latte.
I was glad to see the sugar cookie almond milk latte back on the menu. As someone who tries to avoid dairy, it is nice to see a selection of non-dairy drinks. Like the infamous brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso, the sugar cookie almond milk latte is amazing too. With notes of almond and homemade sugar cookies, it tastes like the holidays.
Another latte I really enjoyed was the chestnut praline latte. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten actual chestnuts in my life; however, this latte has a nutty flavor with sweet notes.
I’m a sucker for iced drinks, but I get this one hot. I’ve learned when you get drinks hot, you lose the risk of watering it down with melting ice and losing the true flavor.
I enjoy Starbucks’ white chocolate mocha, but I love the peppermint mocha much more. I usually don’t like the flavor of mint and chocolate together, but the peppermint mocha has more of a semi- sweet, dark chocolate flavor. This combats the peppermint nicely.
Lastly, the caramel brûlée latte didn’t impress me like the other drinks. To be honest, it tasted almost identical to a regular caramel latte, which is tasty but nothing significantly special.
As someone who usually stays in their comfort zone at Starbucks by ordering the same drink every time, I urge you to order something different. Next time you go to Starbucks, try one of these drinks; it may change your current order for the season.
